Dallastown High School graduate Lillian Cook is off to a stellar start in her college javelin career.
The former Wildcat is now competing for NCAA Division I Dayton in Ohio.
At the North Carolina State Raleigh Relays, Cook set a school record in the javelin at 41.82 meters (137 feet, 2 inches) in her first-ever collegiate meet.
It’s the second-best mark in the Atlantic 10 Conference this season.
“Coach (Brandan) Bettenhausen did a great job developing Cook this fall and winter and she was poised and was within herself in her first college competition, and because of that she was rewarded with a school record,” Dayton head coach Sarah Haveman said in a news release.
