YORK DISPATCH STAFF REPORT
Sara Tarbert bested her own school record Saturday, pouring in 49 points to help the Stevenson University women’s basketball team to an 87-78 victory at Widener.
The career-high outburst by Tarbert, a Kennard-Dale High School graduate, bests her old program record of 41 points in a single game set last season during a win at Virginia Wesleyan.
Saturday, Tarbert was 21 of 30 from the floor. The 6-foot, 1-inch senior also added 16 rebounds, five steals and three assists for her sixth double-double of the season. The 49-point effort is the highest single-game total by anyone in all three NCAA divisions so far this season.
